Description

This is a guided study of the representation theory of quantum groups. We will study the basic structure of Hopf algebra, its finite dimensional representations, the construction of universal R matrix, and survey its applications in quantum geometry and physics. Familiarity with Lie algebra is preferred. Students should seek instructor's approval to take this course.
