Description

This course will introduce the student to E-Commerce business models; next, we shall look at some core functionality that drives such E-Commerce operations; the bulk of the semester will then focus on learning the foundations of these technologies and methods to develop IT applications to implement them. Starting with the basics of internet communication and security, we shall see how they apply to application such as: search, demand forecasting, and customer acquisition. The students will learn how to develop simple programs (in python) covering important techniques such as graph search, data processing and visualization via dimension reduction, regression, clustering and classification. Some case studies will be used to introduce the real-world application of these tools.
