This course is offered under the program of the HKUST Summer Institute for Secondary School Students by the School of Science. This course is about matrices. Matrices are rectangular arrays of numbers, symbols, or expressions, arranged in rows and columns. The course defines matrices and shows how to add and multiply them. It also shows how to use matrices to solve a system of linear equations, and how to compute a matrix inverse. Students can also learn about determinants and learn how to find the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of a matrix.
