Description

An introductory course on quantum mechanics for electronic engineers. Topics include mathematical preliminaries on probability, statistics, linear algebra, and differential equations; fundamentals on waves and quantum mechanics, the time-independent Schrödinger’s equation, quantum mechanical wavefunctions, quantum mechanical states, operators, and measurements, the harmonic oscillator, time-evolution and the time-dependent Schrödinger’s equation, spin of the electron, and angular momentum; semiconductor device physics on potential steps, barriers and wells, quantum confinement, and tunneling; basic concepts on quantum information processing.
