The built environment is crucial to understanding sustainability in urbanized environments. This graduate-level course offers participants a comprehensive picture of how the building industry is managing the environmental performance of the built environment. The course will cover: (1) how green performance of buildings are being assessed; (2) What is involved for the building sector in meeting the challenge of climate change including life cycle carbon mitigation and managing climate risk; and (3) the challenge and strategies of sustainable built environment. The course and teaching material will focus on the best practices, guidelines and tools currently adopted by the industry. Sharing by well-regarded industry player will be included to enable participants to have a deeper understanding of what is driving the industry towards sustainability and the best practices of the industry.
