This course uses “The Book of Changes (I Ching)“ as the framework for exploring the core foundational issues in Chinese literary theory. Through the detailed reading of this book and the important literary theories of the past dynasties, students will understand the outline and essence of Chinese literary theories and criticism, as well as the historical status and value of Chinese literary theories.
