This course teaches students basic theories and practices of social welfare policies through an international comparative perspective. Key policy areas include poverty alleviation, health care, old-age protection, elderly care, public housing, and labor protection. A variety of pedagogies will be used: seminar, movie-screening, and guest lecture.
