This course is offered under the program of the HKUST Summer Institute for Secondary School Students by School of Engineering. Designed for high school students, this program answers the fascinating question, “How do airplanes fly?” by introducing the principles of aerodynamics, propulsion, and stability. Through interactive lessons, students will learn how lift, thrust, drag, and weight work together to keep airplanes in the air. The course emphasizes practical learning with a project where students design, build, and refine their own model aircraft. Each session combines theory with experimentation, culminating in a thrilling flight competition where students showcase their creations in categories like distance, time aloft, and precision landing.
