Instructor(s)/Supervisor(s)/Coordinator(s): Emma RAOThe course is designed for non-Chinese language background students who have completed up to 500 hours of Chinese instruction. It prepares students for an advanced-level understanding of spoken and written Chinese and to navigate complex and nuanced communication in social and professional contexts. After successfully completing the course, their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills will be enhanced, and they will be able to handle a wide range of discourse with nearly full linguistic and contextual control. Students will be able to communicate effectively on complex topics related to life, study, society and work, and will be able to understand the Chinese vocabulary of HSK (Levels 5 and 6). Instructor's approval is required for enrollment in the course.
