Description
Instructor(s)/Supervisor(s)/Coordinator(s): Guowu MENGThis reading course provides an introduction to the language and basic theory of schemes, one of the central objects in modern algebraic geometry. Starting from the affine case, the course develops schemes as locally ringed spaces obtained by gluing spectra of rings. Topics include affine schemes, sheaves, morphisms, projective schemes, and basic geometric properties. The course is intended as preparation for further study in algebraic geometry, arithmetic geometry, and moduli theory. Students should seek approval from the course instructor to take this course.
