2026-27 Fall - AISC1000A - Foundations of AI Literacy: Human-AI Orchestration

Course

Description

Instructor(s)/Supervisor(s)/Coordinator(s): Joon Nak CHOI, Sean MCMINN
Foundations of AI Literacy: Human-AI Orchestration is a course for first-year undergraduate students that equips them with the cognitive, technical, and ethical foundations to operate effectively in human-AI ecosystems. The course develops AI literacy as orchestration: understanding AI systems from tools to agents; understanding human cognition (attention, memory, bias, metacognition); and designing workflows that treat AI as a collaborator rather than a shortcut. Students’ progress from individual AI collaboration to team orchestration and then to organizational and societal governance, equity, and human flourishing, using interactive activities and real-world cases to support longitudinal integration rather than isolated topic coverage. Graded DI/PA/F.
