Abstract

A compact multiband antenna for LTE mobile phone applications is presented. The antenna consists of three meander monopoles and occupies a very small volume of only 8×25.5×5 mm3. By using different resonant modes these three monopoles, the antenna can generate four resonant frequencies to cover the GSM850 (824-894MHz), GSM900 (880-960MHz), DCS (1710-1880MHz), PCS (1850-1990MHz), UMTS (1920-2170MHz), LTE2300 (2300-2400MHz) and LTE2500 (2500-2690MHz) bands. Simulation is used to study and design the antenna.
