Abstract
Solutions to adaptive video multicast over the Internet are discussed. Properties which are used to classify existing approaches include the video rates delivered to the receivers in a session and the place where adaptation is performed. It is found that simulcast remains a promising approach due to its simplicity and its support in many commercial streaming systems.
