Abstract
A method to develop the contact law between a laminated plate and a rigid sphere using the theory of linear anisotropic elasticity is presented in this paper. The response of the plate and the associated force-indentation relationship are obtained by construction of a Green's function of laminated plates. The agreement between the prediction and the experimental data reported by others is excellent before the plate fails.
