Abstract

The differential electron-positron pair-production rate in aligned crystals is predicted to show a measurable resonant structure as a function of the incident photon energy. The resonances are the results of crystal periodicity in the alignment direction. Calculations are presented for diamond and Si, and the expected modification of these results by channeling is discussed.
