Abstract

The rates and stereoselectivities of the cycloadditions of hexachlorocyclopentadiene to norbornadienes substituted at the 7-position by tert-butyl, trimethylsilyl, methoxy, acetoxy, hydroxy, methoxymethyl, and methoxycarbonyl groups have been measured. The rates correlate with subsfituent electronegativities.
