Abstract

An anthropometric database containing 17 fundamental functional body dimensions of Hong Kong Chinese is reported. This database also supports statistical analyses. Data have been collected from a survey of a group of 355 Hong Kong male and female Chinese adults with ages ranging from 18 to 55. The computerised database provides useful descriptive statistics such as mean, median, standard deviation and relevant percentiles of all the measured dimensions. These dimensions are vital for designing common consumer and industrial products. In addition, a usability evaluation on the interface has been carried out and the results are reported in this paper.
