Abstract
This paper empirically assesses the Intelligent Mobile Recharging Solution (IMRS) for port horizontal transportation vehicles, comparing its operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness to traditional recharging methods. The IMRS, which uses Mobile Charging Cars (MCCs) to recharge vehicles during idle periods, improves operational continuity and reduces infrastructure costs. The study outlines operational parameters, cost estimations, and simulation outcomes, showing that the IMRS can achieve over a one-third cost reduction due to smaller battery requirements and a streamlined recharging process. Simulations in 2D and 3D environments confirm the IMRS's ability to support continuous 24-hour operations, while also highlighting the need for further research in real-world validation, operational schedule optimization, and consideration of nonlinear factors.
