N2 - The authors propose an approach based on the concept of generalized semi-Markov processes (GSMP) to model computer interconnect traffic. To achieve this, the general formulation of GSMP is slightly modified. The results indicate that GSMP, after modification, can be used to analyze the traffic processes of multiple-access protocols.
