Abstract

Major depressive disorder (MDD) is one of the most prevalent psychiatric disorders. Digital technologies have the potential to transform the assessment and management of MDD. In this chapter, we will review the use of Internet-Based and Technology-Based Interventions in patient education, monitoring and empowerment, digital phenotyping as well as disease management. We will discuss the advantages and limitations of digital platforms in psychiatry. Internet-Based/Technology/Based Interventions point the way towards a revolution in personalized and data-driven management for MDD.
