Abstract

In this paper, a joint adaptive control and detection algorithm for both the up and down links in OFDM/SDMA wireless LANs is proposed to improve the power and spectral efficiencies. Assuming that all users undergo the same shadow fading, the proposed scheme adaptively updates the powers and the LLMSE spatial filter coefficients of the users for both the forward and reverse links and provides users with an acceptable quality of service (QoS) while minimizing the total transmit power. Simulation results are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme compared with the conventional OFDM/SDMA scheme.
