Abstract

A computer-generated, two dimensional packed column of uniform spheres is used to study liquid distribution in a trickle-bed reactor under trickling flow regime and with no gas flow. The effects of the liquid flow rate, liquid density, surface tension, a tilted column and the way in which the liquid is fed to the column, etc. can be included in the model.
