Abstract

Historic street in scenic spot is a kind of important tourism and cultural resource, reflecting the development and historical context of a city. Its renewal design, on the one hand, can make the tradition better protected, the historical context extended, the vitality of the historic streets recovered, and the advantage of the scenic tourism resources fully exploited; on the other hand, it could form humanized street space when infused with new features and forms, and meet the requirements of the times. It is the development needs for a modern city to maintain the continuity of the history, to reflect cultural features of the city, and to develop scenic tourism resources. In this article, the content and methods of the historic streets renewal design were put forwards through the description and evaluation on the renewal design of historic streets in Hangzhou West Lake scenic spot.
