N2 - New generation of wireless communication systems require high data rate and high capacity. They include the Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) Standard 802.11n, Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) based on 802.11e and also Beyond 3G communications. Integrating multiple antennas on both transmitting and receiving ends can be a solution without increasing transmitting power or spectrum. Recently, literatures [1]-[2] have reviewed that spatial correlation properties of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) channel are highly depending on the propagating environment and the antenna array geometry. Uniform antenna array geometries can be classified as a uniform linear array (ULA), uniform circular array (UCA), uniform rectangular array (URA) and uniform cubic array (UCuA). It is found that in an outdoor microcellular environment under different propagation scenarios the omnidirectional ULA outperforms the other omnidirectional array geometries, but result can be reversed in an indoor propagation environment as many reflections exist.
