Abstract

A design for a reconfigurable multi-slot, multi-port antenna is presented. In particular a T-shaped slot structure is proposed to provide two operating modes consisting of a two ports configuration for a low frequency band and a three antenna ports configuration for a high frequency band. The proposed antenna is targeted for handheld devices embedded with multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology. Simulations are compared with measured data including the practical implementation of RF-MEMS switches.
