Abstract

Barabanenov and Ozrin derived a Ward identity “WI” for the simple case of the scalar wave. The present work demonstrates that the result of Barabanenov and Ozrin is not necessarily in conflict with previous results. In fact, both results are correct, implying an even simpler and stronger relationship between the self-energy and the Bethe-Salpeter kernel.
