Abstract
Societies and governments around the world have experienced severe disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic in the past three years. With different strategies against COVID-19 were adopted, the outcome could vary in terms of both the economic recovery and future protective capabilities against pandemic, while social resilience is one of the major measures. To find out how a nation could increase its social resilience and recover from the pandemic, this study will conduct an empirical analysis in terms of recovery and its causal elements. The study will organize the panel data from 107 nations, including demographic traits, governmental responses, medical services, and resources, and use this as a basis to analyze the characteristics of countries with different social resilience. This study will contribute to the policy implications of the global recovery after COVID-19.
