Abstract

Compact models for emerging devices are being developed by different researchers. However, it is not easy to judge the model quality only from the corresponding publications. A 'good' compact model has to satisfy several requirements (including the models' operability, convergence and runtime). A public platform which provides entries for different compact models, test suites to verify the models' characteristics, as well as the interfaces for parameter extractions, will help standardizing the model developments. In this paper we analyze the compositions and requirements for such kind of platforms. i-MOS as the dedicated device compact model platforms is reviewed with its current status. The road ahead for i-MOS to fulfill all the requirements of a compact model standardization platform is also discussed.
