N2 - L-shaped beams subjected to pure elastic-plastic bending are investigated thoroughly. The shifting and rotating of the neutral axis of the beam during bending and springback after unloading are described mathematically, while the curvatures of the beam before and after springback are given. The method proposed in this paper is valuable both to the further theoretical studies of the asymmetric elastic-plastic bending of beams with arbitrary cross-section and to its application in practical bending operations.
