Eigenspace representations on SL (2, R)/SO(2)

Abstract

In this thesis, the structure of the eigenspace representations on SL(2,R)/S0(2) is studied in full generality. After observing some properties of the principal series representations and induced representations, we prove that the eigenspace representations on SL(2,R)/S0(2) are isomorphic to some spherical principal series of SL(2,R), and describe their algebraic structures completely.
