Abstract

Call admission control (CAC) is one of the key elements in ensuring the Quality of Service (QoS) in multimedia cellular networks. To determaine the optimal value of control parameters is a difficult and time consuming task, since it requires a search in a high dimensional phase space. In this thesis we demonstrate the employment of the Simulated Annealing algorithm in searching the optimal parameters in the four complete sharing based CAC methods that we proposed. It shows that the Simulated Annealing algorithm can obtain the optimal control parameter in the high dimensional phase space effectively. It also shows that the complete sharing based CAC is better the the complete partitioning based CAC.
